Men, stop grumbling about the wearing of the pink in the NFL. They do it for a solid reason.
Over the weekend I was with some men who were grumbling about the NFL going pink during October for breast cancer awareness. They believe it to be a distraction. Distraction? Do you consider the cheerleaders a distraction? I think not.
Well with statistics being what they are some of those cheerleaders will unfortunately be diagnosed with beast cancer. It seems as though a few times per year a woman I know, or am close to, is diagnosed with this terrible disease.
At a time when certain folks in the medical field are promoting reductions in screenings, we need to remind our women how important it is to have that annual mammogram. I think the NFL looks good with a dash of pink.
Even the refs look good. And James Brown, Boomer, Cowher and the boys look good with their pink accessories. You guys who have a problem with all the pink and don’t care about breast cancer awareness, will care, when it’s your wife, girl friend, mother, or daughter.
Plus, women seem to love it when a man wears pink. I would add this caveat, women should also pay attention to the hearts, as heart disease is still the number one killer of women.
